Hello friends and welcome back to Delight N' the Light! I am so excited to share and write to you on all the things that I have been going through and things that I have been praying over! I hope that you are all having an amazing week! My husband and I have been out on our honeymoon and so haven't had a chance to post on the blog but I'm so excited to share about some fun things that I hope the Lord opens doors for! JP and I are discussing starting a podcast together and so really excited and hoping the Lord opens that door for us to do together! It would be so fun! Anyways thank you for tuning into the series, The Good Shepherd! Let's get into it!

This season has been a lot of unknowns. A lot of unknowns about JP's immigration paperwork, careers, school, our marriage, stress financially, communication, etc. One of the biggest things that has been keeping me down is disappointment and fear of people's opinions. I have been feeling very alone and not really sure where to go and so I've been feeling this press from God to really begin to be with Him in solitude. Now if you have done an ennegream test I am a 7. I do not like sitting, I like to be doing all. of. the. time. The Good Shepherd knows that I need to lie down and rest. There has been so much going on these past few months that I am actually starting to realize that there are things internally that are not okay. Jesus has been such a huge help in this season of life and one of those things is brokenness.

Brokenness is a very hard thing whether it's from sin or hurt it's very hard to deal with. Good thing we are not alone. I have experienced a lot of hurt that I have been keeping myself trapped in because it's easier to believe a lie than to get your hopes up only to be hurt even worse right? Jesus has shown me over the last week that brokenness is a blessing. Do you want to know why? Brokenness is the opportunity for God to plant new seeds. I think of John 15 when Jesus says I am the true vine remain in me and I will remain in you. Jesus is all that we need just as it says in Psalm 23. I feel like God is planting new seeds and I am in the darkness of the soil but here's the thing in John 1 it says, "the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it." Even in our darkest times Jesus is our night light. His word is a lamp for our feet (Psalm 119:105). He is the true light of the world! He separated light from darkness! Those who are in Christ Jesus have been transferred from the darkness into light with Him! We still have valleys that seem really dark but as believers, we have the light with us always! Sometimes in seasons of waiting I feel like it's so easy to want to be in control and take it into our own hands, but I have been learning to wait and to learn new disciplines in this season! Jesus has been showing me a lot of things and I'm truly grateful for dark valleys because it gives Jesus the opporunity to reveal His heart and His light! Here are some verses and chapters that I have been clinging to if you are also going through a dark season!

  • Isaiah 41:10

  • Psalm 23

  • John 15

  • Matthew 8

  • Romans 8

  • Proverbs 3

  • John 10

  • John 1

  • Isaiah 55

  • Matthew 4

I hope this helped you if you are going through a similar season of life and are needing some encouragement! You are seen and loved! Every season is temporary and God's timing is always perfect! Keep pressing in and keep seeking God! You are not alone and never have to walk alone! Even if it seems like God is not there, He is! He is always present! He promises to never leave us nor forsake us! His love is steadfast! I love you friends! See you next week! :)
